The government of the Balearic Islands formed by a coalition between PSIB (Socialist Party of the Balearic Islands), Més and Podemos, decided to postpone the ban on bullfighting in this autonomous region until the Constitutional Court ruled about the ban on bullfighting in Catalonia .

Once the ruling of the Court overturning the ban on bullfighting in Catalonia is known, they are now are preparing a new draft of the proposal in order to avoid that the Court could overturned the bill wih the same arguments they used for the Catalan ban.

Consequently the text of the proposal will not mention the words "bullfights" and after several legal consultations, the spokesman for the Committee on the Environment, Laura Camargo said it will be presented as "a ban on shows with bulls that may incur with the death of the animal."
