Once again a horse died during the April Fair hold in Sevilla in April 2018. Local Police report charged the owner of the horse with neglect and mistreatment. He did not provide the horse with water, food and rest and forced him to pull a carriage to the point of exhaustion until he collapsed and died. The footage of a visitor of the Fair showed the state of the poor horse.
The Police informed that there were veterinary care and drinking troughs, in the Fair to ensure the well-being of the horses that were inside the enclosure.
However, year by year, some horses are dying during the celebration of Feria de Abril, the pilgrimage of El Rocío (Huelva) and other events held in Andalusia, despite that these appalling facts have been repeatedly reported by animal advocates such as Ong ADDA, which regrets the passivity and inability of authorities to eradicate the mistreatment of horses during these events.
