April 2012.- Ngo ADDA has launched a joint campaign with the British Union for Abolition of Vivisection, BUAV, to fight against the importation of wild animals for experimentation. Both associations are member of the European Coalition to End Animal Experiments, ECEAE. This petition urges the Spanish Government to end Spain's involvement in this cruel trade by introducing a ban on the importation of monkeys from Mauritius.

Regrettably, Spain is the largest importer in the European Union of primates from Mauritius for research purposes. Thousands of monkeys, including those taken from the wild and their offspring, have been imported into Spain in recent years. The animals are sent to breeding farms such as the one located in Camarles (Tarragona).
