International Animal Rights Day

Today, December 10th, marks the annual International Animal Rights Day. The commemoration was established in 1998, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The aim of this Day is to recognise that animals have the right to life, freedom, to not be tortured and not to be considered as objects. Animals are sentient beings capable of thinking, feeling, and therefore as we possess the faculty of discernment we have a moral duty to fight peacefully to achieve the goal that animal rights be respected.

Love and respect towards animals makes us more human.
