Barcelona, 22 December.- On December 10, a local man from Lucena (Córdoba) broke into a site where the city council had installed a nativity Christmas scene, with live animals.

Access to the site was simple, the man managed to climb on top of one of the donkeys. A heavy man, his weight, together with other alleged acts of animal abuse, severely injured the poor donkey who died a few days later.

Ong ADDA was , informed by our twinned associate Adebo (Casa del Burro) with whom we often work, sent a letter to the mayor of Lucena (Córdoba) protesting the cruel and unjustifiable death of the donkey.

Ong ADDA asked the council to remove all living animals from the crib. Ong ADDA also reminded the council that this incident highlights yet another instance of animal neglect, their exposure to cruel treatment by some people and is a shocking example of an innocent creature not getting the protection they deserve.
