Barcelona December.- 31 - On December 16 the first ceremony for the "Barcelona" Award of the Municipal Council, for the Defense and Protection of Animals of the City of Barcelona was held. Carmen Mendez and Manuel Cases, president and vice president respectively of ONG ADDA, received an award in recognition of their long career, and selfless dedication to the defense of animals.

The event was held in the City Council Hall of Chronicle. Mr. Jordi Martí Galbis Councillor of Presidency and Territory gave the award.

The ceremony was attended by friends, colleagues, animal advocates, conservation groups and personalities from many sections of society.

Carmen and Manuel expressed their thanks for this recognition, devoting a special remembrance to the many varied and illustrious personalities, who began the long journey toward animal protection., They further added that they shared this award with all the people who have worked for so hard and so long in the cause of animal defense, with especial mention of those who have, and continue to, work, and collaborate, with ADDA.
