Barcelona, January 2016.- Ngo ADDA supports the international campaign Great Apes – Living World Heritage led by Proyecto Gran Simio which represents Great Apes Project International in Spain. The idea is to get as many signatures as possible, both through formal letters signed as through change.org site (check the information on how to get action bellow) , to present a petition to UNESCO – United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization asking for recognition of the title to great primates.
Since its founding 21 years ago, by Australian philosopher Peter Singer and a group of scientists, GAP Project has never abandoned its goal: to make human societies in all corners of the planet recognize that the great apes (gorillas, chimpanzees, orangutans and bonobos) are an integral part of the genus Homo, as we humans, without undermining the respect that all species deserve.
Pedro Pozas Terrados, executive director of GAP Project Spain says: the campaign is still being supported by many personalities of different fields and many associations. The campaign will be active until the UNESCO declares Great Apes LIVING WORLD HERITAGE.
Please help, with a click, to officially recognize these animals as Living World Heritage.
