Barcelona.- On Sunday February 7 Ngo ADDA participated in a demonstration in Barcelona to protest against hunting with greyhounds and other breeds. Demostrations were held simultaneously in several Spanish cities.
Hunting with greyhound is a cruel practice which is unfortunately still very common in many regions of Spain, the only country of the EU where these inhumane practices are allowed .
Every year, thousands of greyhounds are killed at the end of the hunting season . These greyhounds are raised on inadequate food, they lack all care and the hunters use them as mere tools. When they reach 2 or 3 years of age, they are condemned to a painful death by their owners. Dogs are tortured, abandoned and hung after a prolonged period of unspeakable suffering.
We recall that the Spanish Federation for Animal Welfare – FEBA of which Ngo ADDA is a founding member already delivered 62,901 hand-written signatures to the govern of Castilla-La Mancha to protest against the hanging of greyhounds and other brutal practices .
