NO to the TTIP and CETA

Barcelona, October 17th.- On October 15th the Platform Say No to TTIP, which Ong ADDA is supporting, organized demonstrations in more than twenty Spanish cities, with the aim that the current Spain’s interim government do not give the green light to the approval of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership agreement – TTIP - between the European Union and the United States as well as the free-trade agreement with Canada, CETA, at the next summit to be held in Luxembourg on October 18th.

These agreements, which are kept in secret, are generating a great controversy, since the guarantees of social welfare and animal welfare achieved in the European Union after years of negotiations and agreements may disappear.

Ngo ADDA attended the demonstration in Barcelona where more than 2,000 people formed a human chain starting at the Office of the European Union in Barcelona to the Consulate of Canada in the Plaza de Cataluña where a Declaration was read.
