Barcelona, June 30th 2011.-A poll commissioned by Ong ADDA and carried out by SIGMADOS clearly indicates that the citizens of Madrid clearly show themselves opposed to the bullfighting events and in favour of animal well-being.
Whilst Madrid has traditionally been portrayed as one of the most pro bullfighting cities of Spain, the results of the recent opinion poll reveal a very different reality.
According to the opinion poll, the citizens of Madrid expressed the following opinions:
99, 6 % think that animals must be treated with respect.
88,6 % believe that the spectacles that involve the ill-treatment of animals are in no way educational.
74,5 % think that these spectacles should end.
67,7 % disagree that the bullfights should receive financial support from public funds.
48,6 % proves to be favourable to realizing a popular consultation on the continuity or the suppression of the bullfights and 40,7 % thinks that it would not be necessary.
